-Who am I? I’ve discovered these three simple facts since taking on my full-time hobby: (1) I am a natural light photographer, so I need to shoot in the early morning  as the sun is coming up or just before sunset.  I’m a wife, I’m a mother of almost 6 year old boy & girl twins, I am strong, I am sensitive, I love sleeping and talking {both of which I can’t get enough of}. I love cupcakes, deals and southern food.  I’m a girly girl, don’t like buggy wugglies that lay outside. But ….I love to smell the clean crisp air that spring or morning breezes bring in.  An organized house makes me happy.

Notice the scars on my left arm {I rarely notice them until someone points them out}.    I was in a car accident almost in 2004 that should have not allowed me to be typing today.  Now and let me tell you…that will open your eyes to all precious.  Even the smell of morning air will be especially delicious to you.  I’m so grateful and blessed to be given this new vision….I rejoice in it everyday!  I call it “Tasting life twice“.

-Can I link to your blog? Can I use your photos?
Absolutely, you’re more than welcome to link to most anything you find on my blog – I’m so honored that you would want to even do so. However, please do not take images or content to use on your own site or project, without my permission. Thank you.  And if you really love what you read or see, click the Facebook like button :-)

-What kind of camera do you use?

I use a Canon EOS Rebel XSi, a digital SLR, with three different lenses – The one that’s mostly on my camera is my Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Camera Lens ,  Vivitar DF283 Digital TTL Shoe Mount Flash and last but not least Sigma EX DG 55mm Multi-Coated UV Filter.   Not only will it help with glare, but also protect your very expensive lense.

I learned old school style!   film…yep, I told you…old school and I’m so glad I did.  Back in the day when you had three things. Your knowledge, your instinct and your frame.  There wasn’t any, take the shot and then look at the back of the camera to see how it looks.  NOPE!  Now don’t get me wrong, I love the Digital era…LOVE it!!  But learning on film forced you to know how to frame an image, the rule of thirds and how to pick the best natural light.  I love that I learned it.  Even though I’m reapplying that knowledge into the digital era, it’s been so easy to throw myself into my everlasting love….Photography.

I don’t have a favorite yet but  a few of my wish items are:

  • Vivtar 7mm f/3.5 Series Fisheye Lens – I snapped a photo in the camera store and fell in love.
  • Tamron AF 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 SP Di II LD Aspherical (IF) Lens for Canon Digital SLR Camerasbecause it would be great to take wide scenery pictures.
  • Vivitar 85mm f/1.4 Series 1 Portrait Lens for Canon SLR – I love my 50mm but this would be nice to have too.
  • Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM Lens for Canon SLR Cameras – For those super close up baby hair shots. This lens will work as long as I don’t have a 5D. {sad right}
  • PocketWizard PWP-TR 801-125 PLUS II Transceiver (Black)
  • Tamron AF 17-50mm F/2.8 XR Di-II LD SP ZL Aspherical (IF) Zoom Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras
  • and of course a gorgeous bag. I drool at scrumcious camera bags like Kelly Moore, Jill-E or truly any of the other great designers.  They are all fabulous. But until then…I’ll enjoy my home grown bag above!
  • -Why I created this blog?
    I love to share, I love to chat {talk, gab} whatever you would like to call it.  Blogging/writing has been a part of me as long as I could ask for my first journal.
