What do you dream about at night?  Or during the day for that matter.  When the house is still and I’m left with my thoughts, I dream about all things photography.  I know I know a bit of a cliché but it’s true.  I think about locations to shoot, things to say to my clients to get them to move into the position I want.  What time of day…..seriously, I love this stuff.  My hubby has even told me he’s seen me smile and giggle in my sleep – I’m sure it was about a lens…hehehehe.

*shameless personal Christmas plug – Um Santa, In case you didn’t know I truly want the Canon EF 85mm f1.2L II USM
{just sayin}*

Anyway, back to the topic….I saw this next shoot in my dreams, no seriously I did.  And can I tell you…it so came true.  When I took out the card and popped it into the computer – I had chills!

Take a moment, because I did.  I loved everything about this sweet family and getting to know them more…. was icing on the cake.

Their beautiful love affair started 11 years ago and seamlessly shines it’s love through their smiles when they look at each other and their more than handsome son.  Spending an hour with them was like being on your favorite carnival ride. Effortless fun!  and can I say that when she said to me, “shoot wherever you like and however you want”..I think I literally lit up :-)

When I shot “the” image for their Christmas Cards, I knew it!  I knew it was the one. … and because I love the element of surprise, I can’t share it in case they have family members that might pop over {or subscribe} to my blog…BUT…I have to tell you it’s MY FAVORITE that I have EVER shot!  Seriously, it’s that perfect.  Do you remember my mention of the Tattoo artist I know here in Vegas on the gorgeous Litwalk post?  Chad is also an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G artist as well in that same shop.

without further ado…

Taking pictures is like weaving a blanket.  For me anyways…lol.  It’s brought great connections in my community, family and blog.  Having the opportunity to photograph friends and friends of friends have brought so many wonderful special gifts.  All emotional.  I love to get to know people better.  I want to know them.  Getting to know what makes them cry, smile and laugh is what it’s all about.  I just love it!   All that mushy gushy stuff, yep..that’s me.

I watched this beautiful family welcome their newest member of their family in the late summer.  There aren’t enough words to describe this little beauty.  And her brother, watch out world…if his beautiful eyes doesn’t take you, his laugh will.

Jime is one of 3 Tattoo Artist I know here in Vegas and let me emphasize on the artistry part.  So make sure to head over to their Facebook Page, like them and check em out.

Thanks to the Litwalks for letting me into their home and capture their absolutely warm, super sweet family.  Hoping I don’t spoil any Christmas Card pics, I’ll only be sharing a small few…

Holidays….urgh!!!  wait wait…that’s not a bad urgh.  It’s a …wow, it’s a crazy busy sound and that’s phenomenal.  Being behind the camera all the time is an amazing experience.  A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.  But sometimes it’s always good to get out in front of the camera and see how your clients feel.  What better practice for you as a photographer than during holiday season.  Everyone needs holiday cards..right???  right!

Meet Denise & Family.   Beautiful accent and smile that can fill a room.  She’s beautiful!  There’s nothing sweeter than to watch the interaction of husband and wife with their child.  They are sweet to watch……..

Pure Family: Thompson’s take 3

Every year I photograph this family and every year I love it more.  Now, I have to give a bit of history because you’ll need to know this.

Prior to myself taking their portraits, this sweet family only went to the studio like everyone else does.  And don’t get me wrong, when you need pictures and have a tight schedule, department store pictures are an option.  However, I did a little begging and a we did some last minute planning and then…wa-la!  A session was booked….3 years ago.

I’ve been trying to get this cute little family to let me photograph them in the summer for Christmas Card pictures and finally….finally….after 3 years of shooting them, they are finally on board. They understand and get what boutique lifestyle photography is and it’s about how you live.   I can’t wait to see those future images!

I love that being able to photograph a family, a child or a newborn I get to see that special “the moment” …whatever it is.  The moment when your makeup isn’t just right and your hair wasn’t quite in place.  Or, that snort laugh was captured instead of the pretty smile you thought you wanted.  I love “that” moment.  I love it!

Pure Family: Sweetest Peanut

I rarely get the opportunity to photograph other family members and definitely not an itty bitty like this one so it was such a beautiful gift to me.  As this year is winding down I’ve narrowed in on my passion in photography.  The one thing that I know and the one thing that I can do all day!  Babies & newborns.  It truly couldn’t get any better for me than to be privileged enough to capture something to pure, so innocent and untainted by anything like itty bitties.

The happiest baby you will ever see!  Seriously, she only cried to get a bottle.  To me, that is heaven!  Giggles, bubbles, laughing, smiling, this little angel had it all and she even did a little posing for me.

and my absolute fave…..watching a baby sleep is so precious, peaceful, joyful all wrapped up into one.  Thanks fam for letting me capture your cute little peanut.

I usually do a mini shoot with the kids when they have birthdays.  Nothing new!  Except this year they wanted their own.  Not together…..Eeekkkkkk!!!  My twins not together in a birthday photo just broke my heart.  As a mom of multiples, I see everything in double.  This was even the first year they had a request as to how the shoot should go.  Are we there yet?

I usually do a cute girly dress for my little peanut in some kind of pastel  colors and make it super whimsical.  Nope…..not this year.  She wanted a rock star look.  Seriously! ?!???  I’m thinking this shoot, this one was for her.  I think I’ll still need my mommy fix and do another as their birthdays come closer just to appease me….the mommy of the group.

Without further ado…..the almost birthday girl….peanut/rockstar!

……oh and the crooked glasses just kill me.  She insisted they were on right!

Pure Family: Mother’s Day

I’ve been told all my life that I am one of three Mildred’s.  That’s my Gran.  Mildred….Mildew….Granny, or as I’m most often called by my dad…little Mildred.  I could never understand what he meant by that because I knew I was at least five shades darker in color, much more spry and a bit of a fire cracker with a touch of love.

After moving to Las Vegas to be closer to my parents, I hoped that after a bit of time I would figure out what the true meaning of  ”little Mildred” meant.  I have since figured it out but what I mostly discovered was that I can’t go a day without talking to my mom.  A.K.A…my forever BFF, my shopping buddy, my phone buddy, my tell all to buddy.  My mother and I have always been close but moving to Las Vegas absolutely enabled me to have a “relationship” with her.  One that over time has strengthened not only our friendship but empowered me to understand my ways, love me more and have a deeper bond with my children.

So….what I figured out is this: what my father meant was simply that we all look alike.  three different shades of Mildred.  Three VERY different personalities but we are truly triplets.  Happy Mother’s Day to my Mama & Gran!….and GranMommy far away.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mommy’s.

I love love love the squishiness of little newborns.  It’s been a long 5 .5 long years ago that I had a little one in my arms….Miss Millie provided some much needed “Baby” fix for me.  At 10 weeks and one day she is the cutest little 8 lbs ever!

I could shoot newborns all the time and never get enough.  So precious and innocent!  I need more babies to shoot because I loved it so.

There’s something so special about capturing the first few days & weeks of a newborns life.  I feel so blessed to have been able to capture Miss Millie’s.  Thanks guys for letting me be apart of her legacy.  Until next time!

I was even able to snag one of big sis.  I truly wanted to grab one of all three kiddos together as a surprise to mama but her little guy wasn’t feeling well.  So…..this one is a little gift to mama:

Pure Hotness: Secret rendezvous

Shhhhhhh…….I’m planning a secret “take” cowboy away during the day rendezvous. I know he reads my blog so no dates given but I wanted to put a few things together that enticed him but I just loved it all so much I had to share.  Have I shared that I’m loving VS {Victoria Secret} this season?  I am!!

If you know me you KNOW, I heart anthropologie. To the core!  I love their clothing, dish towels, sheets…pretty much everything.  So if your looking for me, you can find me in either of these places…doing a shoot {hopefully!}, at IKEA, Pottery Barn, the beach or anthropologie.  That’s pretty much me in a nutshell when I’m not with the bumpkins.  When I walked into the store and saw this very simple, traditional dress….I knew!  I knew ‘cowboy’ would love it.

What is it about buttons that drive the men crazy???  I’m sure they have the inside scoop.  I definitely tend to lean towards the traditional side.  I am a natural traditionalist, that’s me.   I love showing not so much but the silhouette curves of your god given gifts.  The soft subtle scent of lightly scented skin and clean smooth kissable lips.  Yep, that’s how I like to rock it.

Being a mama there are days I hit that mark and days….I just don’t :-) .  Ok – most days not – BUT…..I CAN rock my year old nike’s, sweats and scarf around my hair like there’s nobody’s business.   That’s why this little rendezvous is a MUST!

Here’s a little peak at some of my rendezvous items.  That dress looks so simple and it is! That’s why I love it.  Beautiful, soft & elegant undergarmets that slide under the cotton material.  It’s perfect!  And can I just tell you how comfy & sexy {yes sexy} those boots are on.  Your feet will love you, plus you can dress them up or down on any given day.  Regardless of what I’m wearing there is no outfit complete without my Vicky’s {did you know Victoria Secret and I are on a first name basis?  I wonder does she know?}

That’s it’s folks, I’m keepin it real mommy style with a sweet, sassy, sexy style. Psssst…..wanna check out all the items above?  Just click on the image and you can get the who, what where & how much!

Even though we love it when winter finally shows it’s brr cold face here in the dessert, we love hanging onto what little warmth we have. This picture still reminds me of fall but it was just taken in November. Fall colors still rearing their pretty face. I love it!

We had a great time the other day soaking up all the colors, cold wind and a little game of hide and seek….

Goodbye Fall, See you soon spring….hello winter!
