It’s official!  We’ve been in our “forever” home now for 8 months. I know I know, doesn’t seem like a big mile store for celebration but it’s almost how long it took us to get into this home… so everyday is a milestone for us!  We have checked out all the little nooks and crany’s – you know what you do when you move into a neighborhood at first – AND guess what? We have a secret spot…lol.

Well, it’s not really a secret.. but we tell the kiddie pies that it is.  It’s our spot, and I couldn’t wait to shoot there because of the radiant light that pours all over the ground. When sunset is happening (because I’m not a morning person to know otherwise) I knew it would photograph nicely, but I had no idea how special it was going to be to us.

We take walks in the evening throughout the community but this place is just magical. So do you wanna check it out?  Ok, step into our spot for a moment and feel the warmth during this brisk cool January day……and if you want to come and hang with me and kick up some dirt around sunset, bookit!

I don’t know where I keep coming up with these meme titles but they strike and then I post. Random I know but that pretty much sums up my life right now and I’m welcoming it.  My little peanut{s} always have the funniest and  cutest little faces, I just had to share!  Hope you all had a great 4th of July!

I love this time of year because it allows me time to reflect and remember just how quickly  time flies.  Our babies are turning 7 this week.

I put down my camera and focused on our new home for the past 7 months and it’s been hard.  It’s been hard not having a piece of my day to look at via my heavy camera. BUT, we are kinda all settled into the new digs and today….today I did it!  I picked up my camera and we hung out all day.  It was as if I could breathe again.  What could be more enticing for my lens put to point it at my babies.  I love capturing them.  They are my constant little muses.  We’ve only been in our home for a little over 2 weeks now but the mess, the boxes, the unorganized chaos didn’t stop us from enjoying a family afternoon of BBQ and water.  Well, “water hose” that is.  Since we couldn’t get on the “freshly installed grass”, the kiddie pies thought it would be just as fun to turn on the water hose and drench each other.

Remember when life was so sweet?  Remember when you didn’t need the fancy gadgets or a pool or….any kind of fancy anything.  Just you, the earth and an imagination?  That’s what I’ve missed.  Watching our babies dream.  Capturing their little minds at work. Oh camera I’ve missed you.  I’ve missed it all.

As the summer progresses I’ll be gearing up for Holiday pics but for now, I’m enjoying the simple things….Living the dream at age 7!

And by the way, she totally thinks she’s a rock star…we totally support it!

What do you dream about at night?  Or during the day for that matter.  When the house is still and I’m left with my thoughts, I dream about all things photography.  I know I know a bit of a cliché but it’s true.  I think about locations to shoot, things to say to my clients to get them to move into the position I want.  What time of day…..seriously, I love this stuff.  My hubby has even told me he’s seen me smile and giggle in my sleep – I’m sure it was about a lens…hehehehe.

*shameless personal Christmas plug – Um Santa, In case you didn’t know I truly want the Canon EF 85mm f1.2L II USM
{just sayin}*

Anyway, back to the topic….I saw this next shoot in my dreams, no seriously I did.  And can I tell you…it so came true.  When I took out the card and popped it into the computer – I had chills!

Take a moment, because I did.  I loved everything about this sweet family and getting to know them more…. was icing on the cake.

Their beautiful love affair started 11 years ago and seamlessly shines it’s love through their smiles when they look at each other and their more than handsome son.  Spending an hour with them was like being on your favorite carnival ride. Effortless fun!  and can I say that when she said to me, “shoot wherever you like and however you want”..I think I literally lit up :-)

When I shot “the” image for their Christmas Cards, I knew it!  I knew it was the one. … and because I love the element of surprise, I can’t share it in case they have family members that might pop over {or subscribe} to my blog…BUT…I have to tell you it’s MY FAVORITE that I have EVER shot!  Seriously, it’s that perfect.  Do you remember my mention of the Tattoo artist I know here in Vegas on the gorgeous Litwalk post?  Chad is also an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G artist as well in that same shop.

without further ado…
