I love life.  Sometimes it gets the best of me and usually that’s when I want to capture everything.  “That” moment in time when you can look back at what really mattered.  You know what I mean?

I missed out on one of my favorite photographers when she was in town for WPPI this year – I was super bummed!  Kelli..I MUST schedule for 2014, I know it’s going to sneak up on me again.  So…since we didn’t do our family portraits with her, I have been in desperate need of some pics to tag along with our House Warming announcements.  I have a long list of photogs that I not only admire but am always in awe of their work but there just seems to never be enough time to actually make it happen.  I’m making strides to slow down and make more time for the things I love this year and moving forward.  So far, so good and looking forward to more.

When we took the kiddos to the grand opening of the new Legoland Hotel, we took an extra couple days and just enjoyed each other: very hard to sometimes accomplish with work, and a  healthy dose of life.  We took walks, played in the sand, ate out at all our favorites (Spaghetti Factory included – yes, I love & miss this place).  It was just perfect and needed!

Even with all the fun going on it seems there’s one thing I can count on these days from one or both of the twins:  melt downs.  I mean the kind where heads will spin from the crazy.  I tell them to use their words, describe how they feel and talk about it.  Sometimes, it’s successful….but most often…it’s not.  On this particular afternoon of the trip, it wasn’t.  Not in the slightest…we went from 0-60 in 30 seconds (possible? – yes, very possible!)  It’s ok though;  these images mean more to me/us than any perfect smiling picture could ever mean.  It’s real…it’s in the moment …it’s us in the raw.

Just checking into the Hotel Indigo – an amazing hotel in the Gaslamp district of San Diego, CA (post on this hotel will be on TDFtravels soon) and chilled out for a bit…………..

pure family: sprinkles of love photography

It’s official!  We’ve been in our “forever” home now for 8 months. I know I know, doesn’t seem like a big mile store for celebration but it’s almost how long it took us to get into this home… so everyday is a milestone for us!  We have checked out all the little nooks and crany’s – you know what you do when you move into a neighborhood at first – AND guess what? We have a secret spot…lol.

Well, it’s not really a secret.. but we tell the kiddie pies that it is.  It’s our spot, and I couldn’t wait to shoot there because of the radiant light that pours all over the ground. When sunset is happening (because I’m not a morning person to know otherwise) I knew it would photograph nicely, but I had no idea how special it was going to be to us.

We take walks in the evening throughout the community but this place is just magical. So do you wanna check it out?  Ok, step into our spot for a moment and feel the warmth during this brisk cool January day……and if you want to come and hang with me and kick up some dirt around sunset, bookit!

There has been much transformation on this blog since the beginning of it all. From the logo design, the layout and just overall style. The one thing that has stayed consistent is what I want for this blog. A place for me to share my growth, sessions with clients and my life. In 2012 I spent much of the year growing my other divisions, here, here, here and here. These are all maintained and created by little ole’ me. I do have the occasional guest writer but mainly all me (See why there hasn’t been a whole lot of client sessions or classes this year?

The one thing that I noticed has been missing in me this year is my photography. An outlet for me to feed my creative side, my need to capture side. I make no claim to be an expert so the need for ongoing classes and sessions with other creative individuals is a MUST. And in 2012 this has not happened…BOOHOO boohoo!!

I’m fixing that this year. More me time = more camera time = happy mommy!

I live in an a-mazing city! Las Vegas has a great selection of locations to capture and I plan on hitting them (no pressure – no seriously, no pressure. I’m a mama to twins and there is only so much time in a day but I plan on using as much of it as I can to capture). We have more travel planned for this year and nothing pleases me more than to capture a beautiful location.

Working so hard over this year has forced me to want to chill. Chill more with my babies, chill at home to enjoy every bit of it and put some serious restrictions on my work day.

Here’s to a fabulous year…2013. AND….. Because Santa ( and by Santa I mean working hard all year…lol) was so sweet to me this year, I know it’s going to be great!

Meet Ella

I love that my kids are asking me to join sports now.  I put them in a few things a few years back, you know the usual, ballet, karate…etc.  But they seemed to only do it because..well, I signed them up!  But now,…..oh they are asking to join sports and I love it!

My daughter really loved Ballet so we went ahead and put her back into that.  Little did I know that it also included tap this time around.  What a nice little “loud” surprise.

For me, watching her face as she tries to keep her legs up and straightening her arms to make the perfect circle…they just put me in a quivering tear state.  Of course I don’t do it {yet} in her class but my lips do quiver.  She melts my heart watching her heart try so hard.  I’ve never seen her work so hard at something.  I had no idea you could love one little being so much and not leave you just ill.  She’s my littlest peanut.  I adore her. When she breathes, I feel her breath. When she laughs, I burst into hysteria.  Who would have know something so tiny could bring this much joy {times two – really}.

This has to be my favorite photo from her 3rd class.  The teacher was showing them the finale of the show and they all didi it together.  So adorable.

tennis…to be continued……..
